I know I have said before that I am never fully satisfied with my shop or products and I always feel there is room for improvement. Well that goes for this blog and my Facebook fanpage. As a consumer I read a few blogs daily and check out some of my fanpages when I'm checking my personal and business Facebook pages. I strive for people to want to read my blog and check out my fanpage. But more importantly I want people to feel invited and inspired enough to leave comments and interact more. I think that makes it more fun for me to connect with people and also it makes it more fun for people to read what I'm writing.
So that is where you guys come in!!! I need your help and opinions. I have listed 4 questions below. If you leave ONE comment with ALL the answers to the questions you will be entered into a drawing where TWO people will win a $20 Gift Certificate each to Green With Envy Studios!!!
You MUST answer ALL 4 questions to be eligible for the drawing!
Please also leave your name and email address in your comment (I need to be able to reach you!)

ReplyDelete1. I follow blogs with witty text and pretty pictures. Sometimes even with only one of the two, but preferably both. Looking back at my list, I'd say the eye candy trumps the words in most cases. I really only follow one text-only blog; but hey, it's written by a writer!
ReplyDelete2. I come back for inspiration. Other than the writer, I follow designers of fabrics, sewn projects, mixed media, and graphics.
3. I almost never comment. Often, someone has already said what I would say, and I don't like to clutter a board with "me too" posts. But if I love something, and I'm one of the first to see it, I may post.
4. I love your colors. The blog is well written, and the color theme following through makes it nice to look at. The fanpage maybe has too many updates for me. I'm happy with one product related post a day from the facebook pages I follow.

One thing I like? Can't. The customizability is so cool, and your color combinations are very fresh and modern. (I do question Travis and Dean's mommy's plethora of surnames - that lady gets around.) The mommy calling cards are very clever. I would like to see more artwork that is "things" rather than patterns. The pig and the bees are my favorites.

1) What is ONE thing that makes you follow a blog or like a fanpage?
ReplyDeleteI follow blogs with personality. I like to get to know the writer on some level. Of course, humor and some pictures always helps.
2) Think about the blogs you read regularly or the fanpages you check often...what keeps you coming back regularly (examples: lots of giveaways, funny posts, product updates etc.)
I come back to a blog regularly when I feel like I have a connection with the writer. If there is a compelling story, extreme hilarity, or beautiful pics I will also come back.
3) Do you comment often on posts (both on blogs and fanpages)? Why or Why not?
I always comment if I have read a post unless I have nothing nice to say at all. I would rather read a short encouraging comment then nothing at all. I do it because I know everyone loves comments and I like for people to know that others really are reading their content.
4) Check out my blog and fanpage...tell me ONE thing you like and ONE thing that needs improvement.
I really like the organization of your sidebar. It looks clean and nice. The etsy shop widget with your for sale items looks so cool! Hmmm... dislike, I guess I think the background on your blog could be a little less bright.

1)What is ONE thing that makes you follow a blog or like a fanpage?
ReplyDelete-One that not cluttered with popups, adds, and stuff like that
2) Think about the blogs you read regularly or the fanpages you check often...what keeps you coming back regularly (examples: lots of giveaways, funny posts, product updates etc.)
-I follow and visit the blog that have a quirky sense of humor! I love to laugh and feel like the blogger is writting from the heart...not jsut to write a post and get followers.
3) Do you comment often on posts (both on blogs and fanpages)? Why or Why not?
-Only a a couple. Those are the ones that i feel are intresting and i can relate to the posts written.
4) Check out my blog and fanpage...tell me ONE thing you like and ONE thing that needs improvement.
-One thing i like is how easy it is to find everything!
-ONe thing i am not a huge fan of is probably how bright the back ground it. I love the bright green but it is a little to bright to look at for a long time!

the live what you love print is great!
ReplyDeletei would love to see more items with catchy saying like that in your shop!

1) What is ONE thing that makes you follow a blog or like a fanpage?
ReplyDeleteGood writing and content, clean design
2) Think about the blogs you read regularly or the fanpages you check often...what keeps you coming back regularly (examples: lots of giveaways, funny posts, product updates etc.)
Definitely not reviews or giveaways. Like I said, I value good writing. I don't need a mundane rundown of a blogger's day. Dig deeper.
3) Do you comment often on posts (both on blogs and fanpages)? Why or Why not?
I comment often on my favorite blogs (like those found on my blogroll). I try to return comments, too, but that doesn't always happen. And sometimes I have trouble commenting on blogspot blogs.
4) Check out my blog and fanpage...tell me ONE thing you like and ONE thing that needs improvement.
I like the sidebar... it's not overly cluttered. I don't like the bright green background. All the different greens sort of clash.
Your shop looks very organized and colorfull. Keep up the good work.

ReplyDelete1) I actually don't "follow" in the technical sense. I keep coming back to people who have become blog friends through comments or emails.
2) As mentioned above, it's the interaction. I like knowing them and that they know me.
3) I comment when there is something I feel like I could contribute.
4) Honestly... I don't like this color of green. It's almost blinding... The fan page photos could be better organized - two just said that they're new. However, I do love the pictures on there!

ReplyDeletehttp://www.etsy.com/listing/45479254/center-cut-personalized-folded-notecards
I love these personalized notecards!
1) A personal connection with the author is number one.
ReplyDelete2) I like giveaways, but I enjoy more meaningful posts more. How does the process work? What do you think about what's going on in the world? What is making you happy/sad/inspired? So, interesting posts and a clean pretty design are enough for me (usually).
3) I comment on blogs. I don't know if I comment often, but I comment enough to make sure the people who I am reading know I'm out there. I'll only comment if I have something to add to the conversation. When an author has done a really good job and exhausted the topic, there's nothing left for me to say. I don't belong to any fan pages and, frankly, probably won't.
4) I like that you don't have ads on your blog. I am despising the green on the blog, though. My retinas are bleeeeeeeding.
I love the notecards with the bees on them! I wish you had more masculine themed notecards. I am forever at a loss for what to send to my male relatives for their birthdays - it seems silly to send them bees or monkey or flowers or birds...maybe some darker, more masculine colors in geometric shapes would work?
ReplyDelete1) What is ONE thing that makes you follow a blog or like a fanpage?
ReplyDeleteI normally only follow blogs by people I know.
2) Think about the blogs you read regularly or the fanpages you check often...what keeps you coming back regularly (examples: lots of giveaways, funny posts, product updates etc.)
I mostly will only come back to a blog if there is some personal aspect to them. Like if you just have a blog that discussed your products I would not be interested; however, if you included more thoughts on your process and your feelings regarding the work, I would be more interested in reading.
3) Do you comment often on posts (both on blogs and fanpages)? Why or Why not?
I rarely comment unless something is really funny. I just don't always have anything to say or the time. Also, sometimes I comment, but don't get any responses so sometimes I don't think people are paying attention. But at the same time, there are blogs I really enjoy that I never comment on.
4) Check out my blog and fanpage...tell me ONE thing you like and ONE thing that needs improvement.
I like the varied nature of your posts. Sometimes you talk about contests and other times you talk about products, so it's nice that it is not the same thing repeatedly.
I don't know if this is possible, but are people allowed to write on the wall for the fan page? I think that would be a good improvement if they aren't.

1) What is ONE thing that makes you follow a blog or like a fanpage?
I am really into giveaways, so if there are frequent giveaways, that'll do it for me. Also, frequent updating. If a site is only updated once every few weeks, I lose interest.
2) Think about the blogs you read regularly or the fanpages you check often...what keeps you coming back regularly: Lots of contests
3) Do you comment often on posts (both on blogs and fanpages)? Sometimes, but sometimes I feel weird if I don't know the person personally.
4) Check out my blog and fanpage...tell me ONE thing you like and ONE thing that needs improvement: I really like that there are not a lot of slow loading graphics; that drives me nuts. I don't like the little pictures that show up under "you might also like" at the end of the posts.
My favorite items are the prints
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see more prints with animal themes;-)

1) Interesting content and a good amount of pictures.
ReplyDelete2) I love giveaways but I also enjoy personal posts.
3) Yes, I do. If I see something that is intriguing and I enjoy it or I just have something to say. :)
4) I like the cute about me and the mother daughter picture. :) I also like that you have a "green" them going on. Maybe more photos in your posts? (Just because I can't think of anything that's really wrong with your page and I like pictures, haha.)

ReplyDeleteI would love to see more prints. They are so cute :)
love the Personalized Folded Note Card Set-You Choose Illustration---Set of 12
ReplyDelete1) What is ONE thing that makes you follow a blog or like a fanpage?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love "How - Tos" or very descriptive writing. PICTURES!! Also are a must.
2) Think about the blogs you read regularly or the fanpages you check often...what keeps you coming back regularly: I absolutely love it when they have good pictures & how-to articles, like I said.
3) Do you comment often on posts (both on blogs and fanpages)? Why or Why not? I don't usually. It takes up too much of my time, lol. And I usually wouldnnt have anything better to contribute than "wow great post!"
4) Check out my blog and fanpage...tell me ONE thing you like and ONE thing that needs improvement. Your blog is a little bright green, but it's very simple, clean, easy to navigate.
1) The look of the blog.
ReplyDelete2) Giveaways, interesting stories & interaction (polls, etc.)
3) I do once in awhile - especially if they comment on mine.
4) I like that the blog is very organized. I think your fan page would stand out more with a profile picture that includes a variety of your products. :D

1. I follow blogs that have simple designs and are uncluttered. Too much makes me crazy
ReplyDelete2. I typically will come back if there are good relatable parenting posts and also for giveaways.
3. I will usually only comment on a post if I feel it is something I really relate to. (giveaways are the exception, because a comment is required!) As far as fanpages on FB go, I try not to like too many on FB, because it can clog up my feed and I miss out on things my personal friends post. Some stores I have added posted 20 times a day. Needless to say, they were 'unfriended'.
4. I like that you have a mix of products and descriptions and posts about your daughter. I hate putting anything critical down, but the background green color is a little too neon for me. I like green, but would like a more soothing tone.
Thanks!!

ReplyDelete1. I follow blogs that I have interest in, sewing, cooking, decorating, parenting, etc. Something that I can relate to my life.
2. I am going to be honest, alot of them start with giveaways. I love giveaways. Most keep me coming back with their personality, I like blogs that I can relate, too.
3. I usually only post a comment on blogs when I feel that I HAVE to. ie: when people need feedback, have questions, or if I have questions. I rarely leave feedback on people I do not know personally. Is that wrong?
4. I love the colors you use (on your fanpage). Most of your items have lots of colors (different ones). I love it. The background on your blog is way to bright for me. Makes it hard to focus on what you have written when the background is so bright.
