Marco?!?!....

Polo!...

I apologize for the lack of posting. I will probably not be super active on my blog for a little while. I have a few things going on on the home front that are first on the priority list.

The shop is still open and humming along but I just won't be able to attend to the social media side of things for a couple of weeks. I will post when I can but trust me when the home front stuff settles down I will be back hopefully some fun posts and interesting info.

THANKS!

I Need to Be More Masculine...

I received a comment that I needed more masculine designs or color schemes in my shop. I have actually thought the same thing and at times I have tried to make at least one of my examples more masculine (although I realized it was in relation to kid products). I don't really focus there as much because it seems like people are mainly purchasing my stuff for kids or female friends (or maybe that is because I don't have m ore items that have a masculine feel). I went an looks at my pictures and seriously this one was the only one that I found that I remember creating with a man (not boy) in mind.
The other times i have used male names have been for kids...SAD!

So I will be working on that..but other than notepads do you really think men use notecards (honestly I have no idea...the men in my life that I have asked said "no")?

** Sidenote: If you happened to go to Old Navy's $1 flip flop sale (or as I call it flip flop hell) I applaud you... my hubby and I tried last year and seriously we walked in an saw the crazy lines and mayhem and we turned around and left within 5 minutes...

AND THE WINNER IS......

So before I announce the winner I must admit this is the first giveaway I have hosted on my blog. It started with an Oops and ended with an Oops. When I changed my template it screwed up the "Comments" section so people couldn't leave comments. I didn't realize until my sister pointed it out. I was just thinking people just weren't interested. Then I was preparing to pick a winner from the comments this morning. I saw I had 13 comments and I was super happy with that. I did notice that I had not gotten any new comments since like Weds but I was happy with having any kind of feedback. Then I was fiddling with the blog and remembered I had set the comments to moderate on Weds. So sitting on my dashboard were several more comments that had come in but weren't posted because I needed to post them...yes I am a DORK!!!

So on with the show....

THE WINNERS ARE.... (I had snazzy photos of the drawing but I took them on my camera phone and for some reason they aren't uploading correctly so after an hour of trying I gave up)

Erin & Brittney

An email has been sent to you both regarding the giveaway.

I really want to thank everyone for providing me with feedback!!! I really do appreciate it. The one comment that was fairly consistent was the dislike for the bright green background for the blog :) I'm not surprised by that comment and as you can see I am adjusting things.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

My daughter LOVES balloons currently. She actually thinks that all balls. Every time she sees a balloon no matter what she is doing she will stop and scream excitedly "BALL!!!!!!!!!!!" repeatedly. At the Saturday market she was mesmerized by balloons that were decorating this wooden today booth. So of course we had to stop while she proceeded to touch every balloon. The man ended up giving her a balloon and we ended up buying wooden blocks (yeah only because we felt obligated). So this week I am featuring some fun balloon themed etsy items.

CLOSED $20 IS WAITING FOR YOU!!!!---UPDATED

DUE TO ISSUES THAT DID NOT ALLOW FOR COMMENTS TO BE LEFT, THE GIVEAWAY WILL BE OPEN AN EXTRA DAY! (thanks sis for letting me know about the comment problem!!)

I know I have said before that I am never fully satisfied with my shop or products and I always feel there is room for improvement. Well that goes for this blog and my Facebook fanpage. As a consumer I read a few blogs daily and check out some of my fanpages when I'm checking my personal and business Facebook pages. I strive for people to want to read my blog and check out my fanpage. But more importantly I want people to feel invited and inspired enough to leave comments and interact more. I think that makes it more fun for me to connect with people and also it makes it more fun for people to read what I'm writing.

So that is where you guys come in!!! I need your help and opinions. I have listed 4 questions below. If you leave ONE comment with ALL the answers to the questions you will be entered into a drawing where TWO people will win a $20 Gift Certificate each to Green With Envy Studios!!!
You MUST answer ALL 4 questions to be eligible for the drawing!

Please also leave your name and email address in your comment (I need to be able to reach you!)
1) What is ONE thing that makes you follow a blog or like a fanpage?
2) Think about the blogs you read regularly or the fanpages you check often...what keeps you coming back regularly (examples: lots of giveaways, funny posts, product updates etc.)
3) Do you comment often on posts (both on blogs and fanpages)? Why or Why not?
4) Check out my blog and fanpage...tell me ONE thing you like and ONE thing that needs improvement.

For ONE extra entry (please put in a separate comment):
*Go to my shop and:
Tell me ONE thing you like about it -OR- Your favorite item
-AND-
Tell me ONE thing that needs improvement -OR- An item you would like to see.

I WON!!!

I'm a little late with this post...

Bridgett over at Perideau Designs created/hosted a fun blog roll scavenger hunt so her readers could get to know her blog friends. She posted clues daily and us readers had to figure out which blog and blog post she was referring to. I won clue #5 which introduced me to Lesley and Smidgebox. Lesley creates/sews fun items like tote bags, fabric buckets and fabric blocks.

And the best part is I won a super cute tote bag from her shop!!! I was on vacation when it arrived but it was a pleasant surprise to see it when I got home!

I absolutely LOVE it and I took it with me to work the very next day after vaca and got tons of compliments on it. I will definitely be shopping at Smidgebox in the future!
Thanks Bridget for having the fun scavenger hunt and thank you Lesley for the cool prize!!

My Mother's Day

As promised my Mother's day presents!

Munchkins daycare did the above. I was so happy, they always seem to capture such funny moments!

The card munchkin created with the help of her granny :)
Mother's day was nice, we went to an early church services which munchkin could barely sit still for and then we took her to the park down the street from my parent's house. She love the slide and the swings :) Then we had dinner with my aunts and cousins. My dad cook everything which was nice but funny at the same time since he rarely cooks. He normally bbqs and then my mom does the rest but he did it all this year. It was a nice day with the fam and much needed!
When I got home I got the best present of all. We got home at 1:30 am and it was a really bad flight so I really wasn't the nicest person to be around and I walked in the door put munchkin to bed and crashed and then dragged myself out of bed a few hours later for work so I didn't notice until I got home the sweetness that is my hubby! He did want I had asked her cleaned out the office and also build some shelves for me. The room is not done because its not organized yet but it's so nice to have a separate space to run my business instead of the dining room table. My hubby has said he would finish clearing off the dining table for me (mainly because he thinks I will never get to it) and then we can finally start back to eating dinner there as a fam. I will post pics once everything is organized and decorated the way I want.

Short and Sweet

I had a rough flight back home with the munchkin and I got in at 1:30 am, didn't get to sleep until almost 3:00 am and had to get up by 6:30 am (which is already late) to go to work (definitely regret not taking an extra day to regroup). It was a hard day aside from having a hard time staying awake. Needless to say I'm exhausted. Check back tomorrow I will show off some of my cute Mother's Day goodies :)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

This Mother's Day is extra fun. I live 2000 miles away from my family. When I was preggo with my munchkin I really started missing my family a lot, especially my mom. We are pretty close and talk a couple of times a week. My munchkin is the first grandchild for my parents and my in-laws so she is pretty special. My mom was meant to be a grandma and I don't know what I would have done if she hadn't been there in the delivery room when I had munchkin or for the two weeks after (I was totally unprepared for the emotionally toll it would be). My mom has a really hard time being so far away from her grand baby. So this year my sister and I cooked up a surprise for my mom for Mother's day. My sister convinced my mom that one of her friends from college was coming into town for a couple of days but instead me and munchkin would be coming. My sister doesn't have a license (way to let it expire!) so my mom would have to take her to the airport to pick up her friend. Everyone at my mom's office knew about the surprise too. I was nervous that she would some how find out since we have been keeping this a secret for over a month.

Unfortunately the few days leading up to the trip were beyond crazy at work so I felt like I had to get everything ready for the trip at the last minute and I was SERIOUSLY on edge. I did an overnight flight with munchkin this time because the last time we flew a few months ago was HORRIBLE. Luckily the flight went well and no major meltdowns. We got off the plane at the airport and boy was my mom surprised when she saw us walking out of the gate instead of my sister's friend. She was super surprised and happy. She said this was the best mother's day present by far! Mission accomplished!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there. Its an awesome club to be a part of and I cherish every moment!

I have crazy baby fever right now. I look at my munchkin who is getting bigger and more independent everyday and I know she is not a baby anymore. The hubs and I would like to have at least two children if not more, so hopefully I'll be on the preggo wagon soon (there are just a few things that need to happen before that). But there is always a steady stream of preggos at my office (I think at least one person has been in some stage of pregnancy at all times during the past 3 years), which just keeps babies on the brain.

So this week I am featuring some super cute and fun baby/kid items from some talented folks! I already have my eye on a few items for my munchkin :)
