Feeling Productive

As promised some new things and some new new things (kind of reminds me of when I use to say "like" versus "like like"). Anywho...

I have been wanting to add new illustrations and patterns to the shop this year. In my 2011 Desk Calendar-Patterns I featured two new patterns "Burst" "Zigzag". I finally got around to adding one item each with that pattern. I will slowly be adding those patterns to the options in the shop.

I have to be the right mood to make new illustrations if its not a request by a customer. For some reason I felt artsy this weekend (hmmm maybe after focusing on pee and poop one needs a little creative outlet...) and I whipped up 3 new illustrations and I added these newer ones to actual products. I updated the listings with the new photos which I think turned out really well.

I think my favorite illustration is the Robot...he turned out so darn cute! The dinosaur is a close second.

I felt pretty productive this weekend (I'm counting Monday in my weekend since I was off and everyone was home so it felt like the weekend...or maybe it felt that way because I didn't get out of my pjs all day).

I am trying to bring back "With Envy Wednesday" so hopefully there will be one up on Wednesday...I make no promises :)

New Comers Welcome!

I still working on being more consistent with my blog. Good thing is I have totally wanted to blog I just haven't had time since I have been filling orders and working on new items. I have a VERY long list of things I need to get done but I'm trying to be patient and do what I can each day. But I thought I would introduce you to a couple of new illustrations I have done. I am still working on a few more but I have had these for a couple of months and I haven't update yet....and still haven't updated my shop listings to include these (I'm working on it).

I made these little construction themed illustrations by request and just think they turned out sooo cute!

I made this little rocket for my Valentine's Day-Illustrations Mini Folded Cards.

I love all my illustrations but I get nervous to create new ones because I'm always worried how they will turn out and I get worried that I won't be able to make them nice enough to fit the look of my other ones. But some how it just comes together.

{NEW KID ON THE BLOCK} Valentine's Day

It's funny I totally hate going into stores around Christmas and see them setting up for Valentine's Day. Yet this year that was me...working on Valentine's day items while still finishing up my Christmas shopping :)

To say I am happy with these items is an understatement. I really love how they look photographed too.

I decided to incorporate more than just the usual pinks and reds. I wanted something more gender neutral (although its still pretty girly but if you used more green or blue accessories/decor it will make it more neutral).

Seriously how cute are the mini candy bar wraps and Hershey kiss stickers. These are my favorite part of the collection...I think I'm actually a little obsession with them :) They just make me smile.

The 2" Party circles are so versatile. They can be used as cupcake toppers, napkin rings, favor tags, drink tags, and decor like above (my daughter thought I was hanging ornaments).

Speaking of my daughter...she loves to "help" me when I'm photographing items for the shop. This time I thought it would be neat to try and photograph her with some of the items. Wow was it difficult but she cracked me up the whole time. She really didn't cooperate at all...I did manage to use one of the photos though....

I managed to also photograph and list my Mini Folded Valentine's Day Cards (loving these!!)

Season's Greetings-2010 Holiday Collection

Oh the holiday season is here. Time to start shopping, preparing for the annual holiday photo, sending out Holiday cards and preparing for the 20 million pounds you'll gain from the yummy food (hmmm maybe that last one is just me).

I did not create any holiday specific items for my Pattern line. I considered it but the reality is you already choose the color scheme and personalization for those note cards and gift tags so you can easily make them into a holiday theme.

This is my first real holiday season. I opened my shop right before Thanksgiving and I didn't offer any holiday related items then. So we will see how this year goes!

I will be including the new holiday illustrations to all the items in my shop in case you want to add a little holiday flare to bookplates or maybe a print.

You may have noticed that two of the prizes were not listed about. I did not list winners for the Silhouette/Illustration Monogram Note Card Sets and the Gift Tag/Stickers. I have mentioned this before but I am a big fan of organization. I love the item of labels, lists and systems. When we moved into our new place I made a promise to be more organized in many different areas of my life. One of this things I have been the most consistent about is making a grocery list and meal plan every week and for the most part sticking to it. It had reduced my grocery bill and also help avoid trips to McDonald's (I do miss it).

I purchased a fabric organizer/portfolio from Quiltish and love it. I created a shopping list that fits neatly inside and there is enough room for my coupons and money. Then I created a coordinating meal planner that is on the fridge.

So I thought I would make the lists available in my shop...

Unfortunately my memory card went nuts and I lost the real pictures I took, so you will have to make due with digital images until my shopping trip this afternoon for a new card.

But anyway the set includes one Meal Planner note pad and one Shopping List note pad. You can customize the color scheme and personalize it to fit your needs. Each pad had 52 pages. The pads are available in two sizes approx 5x8 and 3.5x8.

Just my little way of adding organization, style and fun to your shopping experience.

I'm not exactly sure why I never added these items to my shop before. They seem to be a logical item for a paper goods/gift shop and I know I have at least thought about making some before but just never have...

Gift Tags and Sticker

I will be offer both gift tags and gift sticker/labels to coordinate with the items in the shop. Each circular gift tag is 2", printed on 80 lb cardstock and is finished off with a 9" ribbon of a coordinating color. You have the option of having your message printed on the gift tags or simply going with "To" and "From". The backs for blank so you are free to leave a handwritten message. Gift tags come in a set of twelve and are packaged in a clear cello sleeve.

You have option of ordering gift stickers in 1.67" (24 stickers), 2" (20 stickers) or 2.5"(12 stickers) round stickers. Quantity depends on size of the stickers. They are printed a high quality matte while adhesive stock. As with the gift tags we can print your message to simply include to and from.This items will be in available in the shop on Monday (still updating the options)

I sorta have two "lines" of products in my shop. I have what I consider the illustration line which I think appeals more to people buying items for kiddos or mommies. Then there is my pattern line which I think is more for the adults but is fun enough to work for kids too. Halloween Has Arrived-Deja Vu!

Halloween has arrived in my shop!! Well you may remember that Halloween already arrived a month ago for the soon-to-be closed Parties With Envy. So I revamped the invitation and party circles that I listed there with a new size and more colors. The previous invite was a little drab. I love how they look now!

Plus I added some Halloween illustrations to my Big Circle Note cards and now have Halloween Big Circle Note cards. I am going to be adding the Halloween illustrations to my kids' items. So now until the beginning of November you can add a little spooktacular touch to your paper goods!!

I Can't Think of a Title

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was fairly productive. I had Friday "off" (mandatory furlough day for most state employees). I look at it as a vacation and try to ignore that I don't get paid for it.

I spent half the day cleaning and the other half curled up on the couch looking at tutorials
for making felt food...my new obsession. I decided to make the Munchkin some felt food as part of her birthday present. The hubs is going to make her a play kitchen out of old cabinets his mother has. I am so excited I can barely stand it!!

I managed to transfer a few items over from PWES. I would have transferred them all fairly quickly but I trying to figure out how incorporate them into GWES the best. So currently I am offering printed and printable invitations. I am also offering printable party circles to coordinate. I'm hoping to have it all worked out this week.



I am in the process of getting items ready for the holiday season. I am wanting to have all the items up by the beginning of October. I am starting with these little cuties....

Monthly Onesie Stickers, the perfect gift for new mommies and mommies-to-be. Just peel and stick to a onesie and take pictures each month. Its a great way to capture baby's growth over the first year. I am offering them with my illustrations and also another option featuring my patterns.



Now I just have to get preggo again so I can use them too :)



We also managed to decide on the Munchkin's Halloween costume. This year she is going to be a Boxer/Prize Fighter. I can't wait to get it all together. She is going to be soo cute. I'm not going to tell her what a boxer is because then she will be hitting people all over the place.



Here she is the last two years for Halloween...


She was only 6 days old so we settled on a big pumpkin big and her Nani got her glow-in-the-dark socks.


Last year she was an NFL ref, complete with a penalty flag. She learned touchdown too. She was so precious!
